Zones is a geofencing app which uses the battery-efficient Android location services to activate quick shortcuts on your handheld device or Android Wear smartwatch when you enter predefined zones.
The shortcuts are defined as Web API URLs, which can be either manually activated or automatically requested when entering or exiting a zone.The following actions can be triggered by a geofence zone:- Show persistent handheld notification with distinct action buttons for each zone- Show persistent wearable notification with quick-activation buttons for each zone- Automatically request the Web API URL when entering or exiting the zone
Potential applications:- Show lock/unlock buttons for a Smart Lock when close to home or office- Easily trigger predefined IFTTT webhooks when in a certain area- Trigger web-connected Smart Home API when at home
